Christina Aguilera flubs "Star Spangled Banner" lyrics at the Super Bowl

Christina Aguilera keeps on fumbling her comeback move. After her critically-panned, albeit Golden Globe-nominated, film acting debut on "Burlesque" and mediocre sales on her album "Bionic," the 30-year-old's soulful rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" was marred when she jumbled the national anthem's lines at the Super Bowl XLV.

Aguilera seemed to be too concerned in belting out high notes during the highly watched gig that she fumbled on the song's lyrics in front of live audience on Sunday.

She has left out the line "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming" and combined the song's second line instead with "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming."

The singer released a statement, obtained by eonline.com, saying, "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."

To be fair to the Grammy Award winner, she sang the song beautifully and has been not shown any indication that she confused the lines. And besides, no one can argue that her rendition is way better than Roseanne Barr's during the 1990 baseball game between the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds at the Jack Murphy Stadium.
