Today is Wear Red Day 2011, and star celeb Jennie Garth is doing all that she can to raise awareness for nonprofit charity American Heart Association about a disease that takes the life of one woman per minute —

Star celeb and former Beverly Hills 90210 actress Jennie Garth is the national celebrity spokesperson for Go Red For Women 2011. The national Wear Red Day 2011 event was started by the nonprofit charity organization American Heart Association several years ago to raise awareness about the number one cause of death for women, heart disease.

Star celeb Jennie Garth lost her father to heart disease, and the former Beverly Hills 90210 actress is promoting Wear Red Day 2011 because she knows all too well how heart disease can take away the life of a loved one. Jennie Garth also knows that oftentimes heart disease can be prevented, simply by following a better health and fitness regimen, and being aware of the causes of heart disease.

The nonprofit charity American Heart Association is passionate about raising awareness for heart disease, and working to drastically decrease or eliminate the numbers of women in the US who die from heart disease each year. Heart disease currently takes the life of one woman per minute in the US, and star celeb Jennie Garth and the American Heart Association are working hard to make sure as many women and men take health and fitness precautions to prevent heart disease in the future.
